Notes:
- Sailed on USS James Russell Lowell (Liberty Ship)
- Temporary camp at 11 Mile
- Arrived & departed on HMAS Bombo
- FlgOff Hughes arrived at unit by canoe
- Operated on alternate days on one watch.
- Mr Edwards (from Operational Research Group) arrived by air to investigate suspected submarine plots. He returned to 44WG on 11 Sep with an affirmative report.
- Report sent to 44 Wing that CO (F/O A.J. Ryan) required immediate medical attention.
- CO evacuated by S/Ldr Fenton and admitted to 1MRS. A grass fire, started to clear a runway, took some time to get under control and resulted in the unit becoming distinctly visible from the air.
