  1. Sailed on USS James Russell Lowell (Liberty Ship)
  2. Temporary camp at 11 Mile
  3. Arrived & departed on HMAS Bombo
  4. FlgOff Hughes arrived at unit by canoe
  5. Operated on alternate days on one watch.
  6. Mr Edwards (from Operational Research Group) arrived by air to investigate suspected submarine plots. He returned to 44WG on 11 Sep with an affirmative report.
  7. Report sent to 44 Wing that CO (F/O A.J. Ryan) required immediate medical attention.
  8. CO evacuated by S/Ldr Fenton and admitted to 1MRS. A grass fire, started to clear a runway, took some time to get under control and resulted in the unit becoming distinctly visible from the air.
